What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractic is a health profession concerned with the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system and the effect of these disorders on the function of the nervous system and on general health.
Chiropractic is a straightforward method of adjusting the joints of the body to maintain correct alignment of the spine and to ensure the body's nerve supply works efficiently. The nervous system controls the whole body and any misalignments of the spine can cause irritation of the nerves. Misalignments in the body can occur at any time (What causes Misalignments?) and when they do a person can experience pain which may lead to malfunction in either muscles or internal organs.
Adjustments to the spine and other joints improve their function and relieve interference to the nervous system, thus helping to ensure that nerve messages are transmitted correctly. This in turn can relieve pain and muscle spasm, as well as helping to maintain your general health and well-being.
Chiropractic has been proven with clinical trials to be effective in relieving low back pain, and can also relieve the pain of upper back and neck problems, as well as many other conditions (What do Chiropractors treat?)
